Policy

Conestoga values the feedback of its students and provides a variety of mechanisms to receive input, some initiated by the student and some by the college.

  1. Student-initiated feedback mechanisms include the following:
    1. Daily feedback to faculty during class.
    2. Feedback Link: there is a link entitled "Feedback" at the bottom of every page on our corporate website. This link feeds to a Microsoft form and the customerfeedback@conestogac.on.ca email, monitored by Conestoga's Registrarial College Services team who triage student feedback to the appropriate academic or service area.
    3. How can we help? Zendesk chat: every page of the corporate website also offers a chat feature. This chat is monitored by Conestoga's Registrarial College Services team who triage student feedback to the appropriate academic or service area.
  2. College-initiated feedback mechanisms include the following:
    1. Course Feedback from Students
      1. The Early Course Check-in (ECC) facilitates the collection of formative feedback from students, allowing for adjustments within the same course.
      2. The Student Course Feedback (SCF) process allows for summative feedback from students later in the course regarding their teaching and the course experiences.
      3. Information from the ECC and SCF surveys provide professors and academic managers valuable insights for enhancing teaching and learning at Conestoga.
    2. Ontario College Student Experience Survey (OCSES)
      1. This survey is conducted annually by most colleges in the province with aggregate data being shared among participating institutions.
      2. The survey gathers feedback on student experiences in their program and services at Conestoga.
      3. The results are used to support academic program review processes and inform student services planning.
    3. Annual Student Feedback Survey (ASFS)
      1. This survey is conducted annually by Conestoga.
      2. The survey gathers feedback on student experiences with Conestoga's services and facilities.
      3. The results are used to inform services and facilities planning.
    4. Major Program Review (MPR) Stakeholder Surveys
      1. As part of the program review process, feedback is often collected from students, alumni and employers associated with a particular program.
      2. The results are used to support the quality improvement of academic programs.
    5. Ad Hoc Surveys
      1. On occasion, Conestoga will participate in external surveys (e.g., Canadian Campus Wellness Survey, International Student Barometer, etc.) to assess student experiences on specific topics, often in relation to meaningful benchmarks.
      2. The results are used to inform services and facilities planning.
    6. Program Advisory Committees (PACs)
      1. Student representatives act as resource persons on PACs.
      2. Each PAC will include one or two student representatives.
